Terms of Use

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using Spendful. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The App
Spendful (“the App”) is a personal spend-tracking application developed and operated by Khoa Bui (“we”, “us”, or “our”). The App is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
2. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App for your own personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control.
3. Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its connected systems
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation
4. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
Spendful offers optional premium features available through in-app purchase:
- Monthly subscription — renews automatically each month
- Annual subscription — renews automatically each year
- Lifetime access — a one-time purchase, no renewal
Payment and billing: Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) on our behalf. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
Cancellation: Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
Renewals: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies. We are unable to issue refunds directly.
Free Trial: New users receive a 7-day free trial. The trial begins on first launch. No payment is required to start a trial.
5. User Content
Any spending entries, notes, categories, and journal entries you create in the App are yours. We do not claim ownership over your content. All data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

6. Optional AI Features
Spendful includes optional AI-powered features (receipt scanning and spending insights) that require an internet connection and send limited data to a third-party AI provider. Use of these features is voluntary. The App functions fully without them. See the Privacy Policy for details.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components
- The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
- Any defects in the App will be corrected
Spendful is a personal awareness tool. It is not financial advice. We make no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any information displayed in the App for any particular purpose.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD $10, whichever is greater.
9. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and OpenAI. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.
10. Changes to the App
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Texas.
